Can I bring my own car?
Yes, in fact we recommend to everyone to bring the car you will be out 4wding in.
What a better way to be comfortable in the bush than to learn in the car you will be driving.
Is Four Wheel Drive Victoria an RTO?
Yes, Four Wheel Drive is an RTO. RTO 21605.

Do I need to bring anything for the practical sessions?
Please bring lunch and water for the day. Everything else will be provided.
Who will be my trainer?
All Four Wheel Drive Victoria trainers go through extense traineeships prior to being assigned on courses.
We cannot guarantee who your trainer will be until close to the date of the session but its certain they'll be able to give you plenty of new skills.
Are there toilets on site?
We train across multiple sites in the state. We are in the stage of building toilets at our Toolangi training ground. If there are no toilets on site, trainers will advise the closest location and you are always welcome to duck out to the closest location.
Can I attend as a learner driver.
We ask all drivers are at least 18 years of age. Learner drivers are welcome to attend as long as they have a minimum of 80 hours complete and comfortable driving the car they are bringing.
Can I bring a friend to watch?
Unfortunately, no. We are unable to accommodate this request due to WHS issues.
Can I have a second driver in the car? Is it cheaper?
Yes you are welcome to have two drivers sharing a 4wd. The second driver is also given a discount rate. Please contact the FWDV office for this rate as it depends on your course.

What gear does my car need?
All we ask is that your car is fitted with all terrain tyres at a minimum.
Rated recovery points and a winch are recommended but not necessary, if not fitted your car will not be used for recovery exercises but you will still receive the same learning.
Insurance
Four Wheel Drive Victoria are not responsible or liable for loss or damage or
theft of luggage or personal belongings whatsoever or for personal injury and accidents / damage to personal property, hospitalisation or illness. By attending sessions you are enrolled in you agree to these terms.
What if the weather is bad / fires in the area?
Instructors will complete a risk assessment on the day to ensure safe conditions. If it is deemed unsafe the FWDV office will contact you the next working day with solutions for a new course date.
If there is a non favourable forecast / catastrophic fire rating, you will be contacted ahead of time and notified if your course is to be moved.

What time do the practical sessions run.
Practical sessions are all day sessions. Meeting at 8am for an 8.30am departure from the meeting point. Sessions will finish by 4pm each day.
